The Museo Arqueológico of Spain is now open after its renovations. The museum was founded in 1867 by a Royal Decree of Isabella II, and its purpose was to be a depository for numismatic, archaeological, ethnographical and decorative art collections compiled by the Spanish monarchs. The Lady of Elche occupies a privileged spot which beads and tunic provide a perfect example of Iberian outfit. Other valuable pieces on display are the Treasure of Guarrazar and the Pot from Zamora.
